On Oct. 9th at 2pm I'll be playing for the Africa Harvest of Hope packing event at the University of Redlands. This is an all day event, 10am til 4pm, with bands playing all day. Just like to say the amount of classic instruments you can find on ebay for real cheap is rather impressive. And also the new album is coming along nicely, next week I'll be recording a few tracks with a new friend of mine and an amazing cellist, Seana Thompson... Keep your 'ear to the ground' so to speak, for more news on this ground breaking album.

All next month I'll be recording for a new cd, which I'm calling "Roots". This album will be a group effort, with some of the best musicians I know lending their skills to it's creation.

A few updates for you today. First, I've just secured two of my songs to be used in a new independent romantic comedy called, Ricky. The film should finish production soon and be available at least by the end of the year. And Second, last Saturday I had my first live 3-D, online concert in the virtual World of Second life, which sounds weird I know. So for those of you who don't have any idea what that means just imagine a venue in the real world, then put that into a computer with real people from across the US and the rest of the world stopping by to check out the show. I'm stoked for such an exciting opportunity to get my music across the oceans to fans I'd never normally be able to interact with. The long awaited Steve Carroll music video, my first...tell me what you think. But before you watch it, remember we were getting kicked out of every place we tried filming. So if it looks like we're trying to hide the fact I'm lip syncing, that's cause we were. Hope you like it.

A couple of things to tell you guys...
1. The music video for "A kingdom of the lonely" is in post-production, meaning we shot all the footage and now it just has to be mixed, and
2. I started recording demos for a new project today... it's a couple months out, but if what we recorded today is any indicator then this next album should be stellar. I'll keep you all informed of the progress. A tentative name you can keep in your head for the new cd is "Roots". I've been brainstorming, trying to come up with something more witty than that, but nothing else seemed appropriate.

This Fall a few of my songs will be hitting the indie feature film circuit, right now one is slotted to appear in the Canadian indie film "Whatever it was", opening in select theaters Sept 18th, and another in the American indie horror film, "Polk County", out later this Fall.

With one final spontaneous recording session, featuring the "well rehearsed" vocal talents of friends, and friend's friends, that just happened to be walking by. My new Cd "the Sound" is completed... a lot of sweat and tears, and a little bit of blood, has gone into the making of this album. I hope you guys like it.
